Cuisine American
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey for a leaner option
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato diced
- 1 avocado sliced
- ½ red onion thinly sliced
- Pickles to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese optional
- Burger sauce or a creamy dressing of your choice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Crispy onions jalapeños, or any toppings you love
Prepare the Ingredients: Start by chopping all your veggies. Slice the tomato, red onion, and avocado. Set them aside for easy access when assembling the bowl.
Cook the Beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, and cook it until it’s browned and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Tip: If you like your beef a little more crispy on the edges, let it cook without stirring for a minute or two.
Assemble the Bowl: Once the beef is cooked, it’s time to build your burger bowl. Start by layering the shredded lettuce at the bottom of each bowl, then add the cooked beef on top. This helps the lettuce stay crisp and fresh.
Add the Toppings: Pile on the diced tomatoes, sliced red onions, and avocado. Add pickles, cheese, and any other toppings you love. I’m partial to a drizzle of burger sauce—it adds just the right amount of creaminess and flavor. Remember: If you add too many toppings, the bowl can get a bit soggy. So, keep it balanced.
